Health Information Technology (Health IT)
Office of Health Information Technology Transformation
The Office of Health Information Technology Transformation is a newly created office within DOH charged with coordinating health IT programs and policies across the public and private health-care sectors to enable improvements in health care quality, affordability and outcomes for all New Yorkers. These programs and policies will establish the health IT infrastructure and capacity to support clinicians in quality-based reimbursement programs and new models of care delivery.

Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law for New Yorkers Capital Grant Program
New York State efforts align with the national vision with the passage of the Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law for New Yorkers Capital Grant Program, often referred to as the HEAL NY Program. One of two primary objectives of that program includes identification and support for development and investment in Health IT and quality improvement infrastructure at the regional level to support a statewide interoperable health information exchange through a State Health Information Network (SHIN).
