Current Projects - Task Force on Life and the Law
Current Task Force projects (as of August 2006) include:
- coordinating a workgroup of state health officials and outside experts to plan for resource allocation in an influenza pandemic, especially regarding ventilators;
- considering multiple issues relating to organ donation and transplantation, including live donor protections, guidelines for donation after cardiac death, and the ethical consequences of providing incentives for organ donation; and
- examining ethical issues and options for state government regarding stem cell research.
