September 13, 2010 Not Applicable Health Research Science Board's Committee on Program Needs and Effectiveness The Board solicits, receives and reviews applications for awards from the Breast Cancer Research and Education Fund. It also reviews and approves or denies applications for access to confidential pesticide registry information. The Committee makes recommendations to the Board on program areas that merit New York State support, application review and award processes, and evaluation criteria. This will be a delayed audiocast. September 16, 2010 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee Meeting The Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee consists of experienced physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, and consumer representatives appointed by the Commissioner. The Committee reviews specific clinical issues regarding Medicaid pharmacy policy. After hearing public comments and reviewing information provided by interested parties, the Committee makes recommendations to the Commissioner on proposed changes. None
September 16, 2010 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. State Hospital Review and Planning Council Committee Meetings The Project Review Committee reviews Certificate of Need applications involving construction, service changes or establishments. A recommendation from the Project Review Committee will be presented to the State Hospital Review and Planning Council (SHRPC) on Thursday, September 30 at 10:00 a.m.. The Codes and Regulations Committee reviews new or revised regulations relating to medical facility operational and structural standards, including quality of care and the need for the facilities and/or services. The purpose of the Planning Committee is to advise the Council on need-methodologies, health facility plans, and emerging health care issues, monitoring major health care initiatives and advising the Council on progress and/or problems. September 17, 2010 10 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. Empire State Stem Cell Board Funding Committee The Funding Committee of the Empire State Stem Cell Board is responsible for soliciting applications for research project to be considered for funding from the Empire State Stem Cell Trust Fund, developing eligibility requirements and standards, evaluating proposals, and making recommendations to the Commissioner of Health for the award of grants. None
September 20, 2010 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Council on Graduate on Graduate Medical Education (COGME) Steering Committee The New York State Council on Graduate on Graduate Medical Education is an advisory body which provides advice to the Governor and Commissioner of Health on the formulation and implementation of State policies relating to graduate medical education and training. The membership is broadly representative of health professional, hospital and public interests. The Council was created by Executive Order in 1987 and was re-authorized by Executive Order on January 1, 2007. None
September 30, 2010 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. State Hospital Review and Planning Council The purpose of the State Hospital Review and Planning Council meeting is to consider final action on amendments to State reimbursement rules and the State Hospital Code and to make recommendations on applications for the establishment and/or construction of health care facilities. The Governor-appointed, 31-member Council is responsible under the Public Health Law for developing operating standards for hospitals, nursing homes and other health care facilities, making recommendations on applications for establishment of new health facilities and other matters pertaining to health care institutions. October 5, 2010 10 a.m. - 2:45 p.m. Advisory Council on Lead Poisoning Prevention The NYS Lead Poisoning Prevention Advisory Council, mandated by Section 1370-b of the Laws of 1992, will hold a meeting in Albany. The purpose of this meeting is to review current childhood lead poisoning prevention efforts on the part of the New York State Department of Health and discuss future strategies to reduce or eliminate the risk of lead hazard exposure. None
October 27, 2010 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators - Public Session The New York State Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators is statutorily required to establish standards of education, training and experience and provide for the examination, licensure and registration of nursing home administrators.
