About Public Meetings

All meetings (except for executive sessions) that require a quorum to conduct public business or perform a governmental function are open to the public. Meetings conducted by Department staff are held in locations which provide barrier-free physical access for the handicapped. Dates, times and places of meetings are listed. An "executive" session, which is not open to the public, may be scheduled by vote at a public meeting when one or more of the following issues may be discussed:

  1. matters which would imperil public safety
  2. information which would imperil law enforcement
  3. proposed, pending or current litigation
  4. collective negotiations
  5. the medical, financial, credit or employment history of a particular person or corporation, or matters leading to the appointment, employment, promotion, demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal or removal of a particular person or corporation
  6. the proposed acquisition, sale or lease of real property
