About Public Meetings
All meetings (except for executive sessions) that require a quorum to conduct public business or perform a governmental function are open to the public. Meetings conducted by Department staff are held in locations which provide barrier-free physical access for the handicapped. Dates, times and places of meetings are listed. An "executive" session, which is not open to the public, may be scheduled by vote at a public meeting when one or more of the following issues may be discussed:
- matters which would imperil public safety
- information which would imperil law enforcement
- proposed, pending or current litigation
- collective negotiations
- the medical, financial, credit or employment history of a particular person or corporation, or matters leading to the appointment, employment, promotion, demotion, discipline, suspension, dismissal or removal of a particular person or corporation
- the proposed acquisition, sale or lease of real property
