2006 NYSDOH AIDS Institute Resource Directory
Introduction
This resource directory is intended for use by individuals seeking services and as a referral tool for service providers. Included in this directory is a list of organizations funded by the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute to provide HIV/AIDS services. Some organizations may provide additional HIV/AIDS services through other funding sources.
This directory is arranged by region, with each organization listed under the region it serves and then by the service(s) it provides.
Consumer Services
In these sections of the directory, services are listed by type of service and are intended for use by individuals and/or their advocates who are looking for a particular service or services.
Provider Resources
In these sections of the directory, agencies providing multiple services (such as Community Service Programs and Multiple Service Agencies) are identified as well as providers of technical assistance; education and training; and other services specifically helpful to service providers.
Organizations providing more than one service are listed under each service. To the extent possible, we have footnoted any special criteria for a service. However, it is recommended that people using this directory call agencies directly for more detailed information about the services offered. In some instances, conditions may need to be met to establish eligibility for services. For example:
- Services may only be available to HIV positive persons or persons living with AIDS
- Services may only be available to families
- Services may be available based on financial need
Please note that organizations listed in a specific location may also provide services to people who live in neighboring communities and boroughs. Please call organizations directly for complete information about services.
